My Story

“I began my college journey at a PWI for the first year but felt the need to step out of my comfort zone and immerse myself in an environment where I could connect with like-minded peers who could better understand me. Choosing to attend an HBCU was a deliberate decision to be part of a community that had been there for us from the start and where I could contribute to the legacy.

My time at GSU proved instrumental in preparing me for the real world. The university offered a genuine perspective on life and opened up opportunities crucial to my career, including internships, mock interviews, and numerous career fairs featuring major companies. I actively participated in the Texas Club, the American Marketing Association, and proudly became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Among my proudest moments at Grambling were our Kappa probate and the experience of graduating from one of the finest HBCUs in the country. Shoutout to the GramFam!

Prospective students should consider attending HBCUs because they provide a unique experience, allowing the black community to express itself authentically. There's no campus quite like an HBCU campus. To future HBCU students, always remember why you decided to attend college and prioritize that. Despite potential distractions, keep your focus on learning and always remain true to yourself”.
